Our Adventures

We take lots of adventures and this page is dedicated to those adventures.

May 2011

Home: We decided to take a quick trip home this month. We got to visit our family, garden, and play with our animals. It was so much fun. I love going home because we get to be with the greatest people on Earth.

Wilson's Arch: On our way back from our parents in Colorado we decided to hike Wilson's Arch. This arch was created by the intense wind that runs through it. When we reached the top it was so windy it was almost unbearable. We took pictures really fast and then made our way down the arch. It was a short hike, but it was one that we have always wanted to do.

Bridal Veil Falls: Shortly after getting home we decided to hike Bridal Veil Falls. This is a waterfall up in Provo Canyon. It is beautiful. We got to the bottom and were kind of disappointed that we couldn't get any closer. We then went a little farther and found a little trail that led right up to where
you could feel the spray. It was a beautiful day.

Y Mountain: This was the hardest hike I have done in a long time. It was beautiful on the side of the mountain and it was really cool to look down and see all the cities. You could see all the way to Point of the Mountain. This hike made me so sore. My thighs hurt and my knees. John didn't get sore at all. We saw a lot of dogs on this trail, which really excited me. Once we got to the top it was amazing.

Thanksgiving Point Gardens: We visited the gardens that are located at Thanksgiving point. Since we both love gardens we thought that this would be fun. We were right, we had a blast. We got to see roses, lots of trees, lilies on actual lily pads, waterfalls, a secret garden, and fish. Our favorite places were the mountain garden, which reminded us of home, and the coy pond. We loved watching the fish follow people around the dock begging for food. We also enjoyed watching the geese get stuck on top of the lily pads trying to get to where the fish were.

San Diego: This month we took a week long adventure down to San Diego, California. This was our first big vacation since we had gotten married. We had a blast! Our first day there we went to Seaworld and did something that I will never forget. We were one of the ten lucky people who got to swim with the beluga whales. Now, this by far was not the cheapest thing we have ever done, but it was definitely worth the money. We got to be kissed by the cutest whales ever. It was so much fun. And the funny things is, I don't remember much else from that day. Luckily we went back another day to see the rest of the sights. Our favorite show was the pets show. Can you tell we are pet deprived at the moment? We enjoyed Seaworld. We also got to visit the Wild Animal Park and the Zoo. Out of the two the Zoo was my favorite. They have more variety than the Animal Park does. We got to feed the giraffes, see lots of baby animals, and watch a cheetah run at 70 miles per hour. It was so cool! We had so much fun and we would love to do again when we have children to take. If you have any questions about our adventures please comment and we will write back.
